Camp FAQ
Who?
Our first-year SPUR CAMPS are offered to 6th and 7th grade boys and girls growing up in low-income homes, in families where one or both birth-parents are not living in the home, and/or in high-crime areas. If you meet this criteria, you qualify for our FREE camps. We also have follow-on camps (D-Camp, Vector, and Forge) for returning campers.
What?
Games, swimming, archery, camp skills instruction, challenge course, horseback rides, campfire skits and songs, hiking, crafts, "Roundup" faith lessons, and the Henry's Place "Super Secret Mission."
When?
All camps — pickup is Monday morning in Las Vegas during the week of camp. For campers from southern Utah, we make specific transportation arrangements. 2027 Summer Camp dates are listed below — registration opens October 1, 2026.
Where?
Our camp programs are conducted at Henry's Place in Cedar City, Utah, with excursions to other places in the Cedar City area.
How much?
Our camps cost the campers nothing! They are entirely funded by our generous donors.
You are a Christian camp. What if I'm not religious?
No problem! Our goal is to provide a fun and challenging week at camp. We'll share what we believe — if you agree, great! If not, no pressure. We're here to show you God loves you, not to force you into anything.
How safe and secure is your camp?
All staff are vetted with criminal background checks
Staff undergo robust training in caring for your child physically, mentally, and spiritually
Industry best-practices ensure welfare (staff never alone one-on-one with a child)
An appointed "camp nurse" administers medications each week
First-aid trained staff, supplies, and an AED on hand for all activities
Certified as an approved service provider for Clark County DFS and DJJS
Running camp programs since 2016 with an unbroken safety record
